Synopsis

Saul Rubinek, an actor who has appeared in movies and television shows, pens “Terrible Advice”, a new play that runs at the Menier Chocolate Factory from September to November 2011. Not only does it feature a stellar cast – from Andy Nyman and Caroline Quentin to Sharon Horgan and Scott Bakula – it also features Hollywood director and puppeteer Frank Oz at the helm. So this is a production that has a lot going for it and as it appears at the Menier Chocolate Factory – a venue that has originated West End hits like “La Cage Aux Folles” and more – all eyes will be on the show throughout its run.

The play focuses on two pairs of friends – Stinky and Jake, plus Hedda and Delila – and the interpersonal relationships between the two. Jakes has eyes for Hedda, whilst Stinky has his heart on marrying Delila, but then some secrets – plus the titular terrible advice – arise to upset the status quo. So all in all it is a story of romance, marriage and upset with an all-star cast and a powerful creative team behind the scenes.

Quentin is, of course, known for the likes of “Men Behaving Badly” whilst Andy Nyman was recently seen in this year’s “Ghost Stories” at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Scott Bakula, meanwhile, is best known for the television series “Quantum Leap”.

Those with theatre tickets can witness “Terrible Advice” at the Menier Chocolate Factory, where it is running to Saturday 12th November 2011.
